Life is tough sometimes. OK, it’s tough a lot of the time. It seems like we get one problem in our lives solved….and another crops up. A never-ending parade of problems to make our lives more difficult. Nobody ever said life would be easy. There are problems with our lives….our families…our jobs...health.. Some of those problems go away quickly….others seem to linger for months….even years….and make our lives miserable. Sometimes, we feel like we can’t go on. We just want to give up on everything. Give up on our jobs…our friends….give up on everything. But we can’t do that. Of course, we can’t do that. We have something that can give us the courage and strength to go on…..and not give up on everything. In the New Testament book of Second Corinthians, we learn that Jesus says, “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” For Christians, that is a good thing to know. It’s an incredible feeling to know that when we feel like we are about to fall, Jesus Christ is there to pick us up….and help us continue on our life’s journey. God also reminds us that we’re not alone when life becomes miserable. In the Old Testament book of Psalms is this promise: “When you are in trouble, call out to me. I will answer and be there to protect and honor you.” Jesus Christ is risen from the dead and he lives today. Every day He speaks to God, His Father—our Heavenly Father—on our behalf. He does it for you and me every time we pray to God in His name. When you think you cannot go on, just remember: we have the power of God ready to help us. And He will help us…if we let Him into our lives. I’m Paul Ladd…..with Positive Answers. |
